Confidential childbirth is an option that has been available in Germany since 2014, allowing women to give birth anonymously and under medically safe conditions. The identity of the pregnant woman or person is known only to a single counselor, who is bound by confidentiality. The Hamburg Family Planning Center will be happy to advise you on the options for confidential childbirth and support you throughout the entire process.

With a confidential birth, you can give birth confidentially under a pseudonym at any maternity hospital in Hamburg. After the birth, you leave the hospital without the child as soon as your health permits. The adoption agency handles the placement of the child with an adoptive family.

We handle the so-called certificate of origin and the submission and archiving of important documents through the Federal Office for Family Affairs and Civil Society Functions. The state covers the costs of the hospital delivery.
